Doing Money, Work, and Mothering Differently

a conversation with Toi Smith

My dear listener.

For the next installment of this personal research project and conversation series I’m thrilled today to introduce you to Toi Smith: a Growth + Impact Strategist whose work centers on doing life, business, and motherhood differently.

The conversation that you’re about to hear was recorded two years ago, as part of a short podcast project that inspired me to now be going even deeper into this question of how much money is enough.

Toi showed up with so much honesty, and with such uplifting examples of countercultural and liberatory ways of how to think and act when it comes to money. She also shares openly about her experiences of single motherhood, her thoughts on retirement, work, rest, surplus, wealth hoarding, and… so much more.

It’s no exaggeration to say that much of what Toi shared in this conversation has stayed with me for the entire two years since we first talked, which is why I’m so grateful for her permission to republish our conversation here for you.

Happy listening :)

Nic
