Each month I share what’s been working well in my life plus a curated list of links to what I’ve been reading, listening to, watching, and cooking.
In the comments I’d love to hear what’s been working well for you, plus your own links & recs!

What’s Working
Meeting myself where I (actually) am, in every situation. Simply taking the next small step. Trusting that more will be revealed. Spring garden planning as a means of hope. Homemade hot chocolate as a means of present-moment savoring & sweetness. Redistributing money to displaced Black families affected by the LA fires. Asking trusted friends for help when I feel stuck (and then actually listening to them). Smiling at my neighbors. Getting more involved with the institutions I cherish and want to protect, such as my local library. Afternoon naps with my heated blanket. Butter — just like, in general. Four months of loving my very short hair. Continuing to invest in a long-held personal dream, even if it sometimes feels silly to do so in these times. Checking myself on the narcissism of over-responsibility, and recommitting to right-sized, sustainable action alongside a prioritization of joyful embodiment and interpersonal love as defiant resistance.
Reading, Watching, Listening
I’m always grateful for conversations that help to expand my imagination and allow me to challenge my well-worn assumptions, and so of course I loved hearing Janelle Orsi and Erin Axelrod talk about the question of “what if no one could save money?”
Related: “Ten years ago, Jo Nemeth quit her job and closed her bank account. Today, she’s more committed than ever to her moneyless life.”
If you’re craving a light, fun show, season 2 of XO, Kitty was just as delightful as the first season.
I’ve been wanting to take some steps toward greater digital security, and this interview with Daly, a senior staff technologist at the Electronic Frontier Foundation, was helpful. (I’m particularly eager to go through their Surveillance Self-Defense kit.)
